HOME INSPECTIONS
People want complete and reliable information when buying a home. Folks who study these things, list the home buying process as among the most stressful and life-changing events we can experience. Rik helps you to reduce the stress, that fear of unpleasant surprises, by equipping you with valuable knowledge, through a singular report uniquely addressing the condition of your property. His goal as your consultant is to place you in a position of power so you can make informed decisions. A fringe benefit is the peace of mind you'll enjoy by quieting the inner dialogue that so often torments a buyer during the escrow process. More than half of GSS' business comes from repeat clients or referrals from clients. Read the Customer comments

Rik Goodell has inspected more than 8000 homes since 1985. Most of his experience is in the grand City of San Francisco where he is still doing inspections and consultations or coaching weekly. He is available to serve, and experienced, in many other north coast areas as well, including the following counties: San Mateo, San Francisco, Marin, Sonoma, Napa, Lake, Mendocino and Solano. He will inspect properties in other areas by special appointment. Rik is also available as a speaker at Service Club Luncheons, Homeowners Associations, Property Managers Meetings or other appropriate forums.

    Standards of practice

Mr. Goodell provides high-touch customer service and focused attention to detail. The intention at GSS is to be the opposite of a quick and flashy, overwhelm-you-with-paper, franchised inspection business. If you are one that appreciates a report specifically tailored to your property, and you crave the personalized, courteous service and flexibility available only from a small, one-man enterprise, then GSS should be your choice for Home Inspection or other construction consulting matters. The intention at GSS is to give you substance, i.e., gather the relevant information accurately and thoroughly, document it concisely and completely and then talk with you about it in a way that ensures you fully understand the implications; most of which, by the way, are typically not unwieldy.

Understanding construction procedures and technical data is an important aspect of being a Home Inspector but it's a useless endeavor unless the inspector can accurately and meaningfully transfer relevant information to his client. At GSS, the technical knowledge is important and present but the focus is on communication.
